Just reviewed Randy G's video. It uses a small set-up push on the top wing (not the bottom wing) before the two pops on the top wing.
Set up push with top wing OR very small tug on bottom wing. Either works great to get the kite set up properly for the trick.

Yep what one works best depends on what the kite likes. Ironically its the same set up used for axels, half axels. Watching Randy's vids is what really clued me into the similarities between inputs for different tricks.
