Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

many free image hosting sites give you the ability to upload images to their site then allow you to choose a size, etc.

if you're talking 'bout locally, you using windows or mac?

There are dozens of freeware graphics programs you can pick-up, some very powerfull examples like GIMP and some that are aimed towards things as simple as batch resizing.

Check out www.nonags.com for a good offering, I look for 5 or 6 ducks. Go to the Freeware (full) area on the left bar, then choose graphics editors, you'll have to go into the 'more details and downloads' in the descriptions and download from the authors site unless you want to subscribe to No-Nags, if that link is broken try to go to the authors site to see if it's been updated or Google the programs name. Some links are broken but I can usually find anything I'm interested in with a little research.

There's also Picassa from Google, get a gmail account and you also get free photo hosting which interfaces nicely with the Picassa program and will give you some pretty good image editing ability's, a decent photo browser and organization tools.

At least in XP that's not a standard feature. Must be an optional install somewhere.

I like Picassa, even if you don't intend to put pictures up on Google Images. It's a good organizer and has plenty of basic editing  stuff.

On Mac, the built in Preview app has all kinda editing features. Faster for one at a time than opening iPhoto.
