One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

It's official, Chris and I will be moving to Orangevale sometimes this July. Although I am still unable to fly, I love to watch and hang out and swap kite stories.
So… who is in the Sacramento area and where would be a good place to meet up? Got to be somewhere close as transportation is an issue.

Me.  Wink  Hey Steve!

Not many really great flying spots in the area that I've found, I kind of just fly where I can find space.  Local parks, soccer fields, etc.  Elk Grove park used to be good but has become fairly overgrown with trees in recent years.  Not exactly close for Orangevale though.

Maidu Park in Roseville is decent, it's about 4-5 soccer fields if you drive all the way to the back side.

Ripon (Mistlin Sports Complex) is great and very spacious but it's about an hour drive from here.  You'll have to come out sometime.

Looks like there are quite a few parks in Orangevale although I'm not sure how large/spacious they are.  I know John had scouted out many parks in the area, maybe he'll chime in on if any will be local to you.

I have flown at Maidu and it was so-so. Orangevale Park is full of trees if memory serves. I want to make it out to Ripon to say Hi to everyone but may need to mooch a ride.

It'll be so cool to finally meet you in person! For you I might even suffer the Valley heat. Grin

Hey Steve, Although I live up the hill in G.V. I do most of my flying down the hill, Roseville, Rocklin area, I do try to make it to Ripon most of the fly's as I can, good flying most of the time and usually a fairly good showing, need a ride no problem, Orangevale is on my way, if you don't still have my number, here it is 530-477-9848
