Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Just seen the following comment on Drachenforum, which I thought was worth sharing.

... 2001 in Portsmouth, England...a tiny, underweight tot ... with a matrix Vented in normal wind ...  framed with Skinnys  ... because ... otherwise he would not have been able to hold it ... even then we could see what was in store for us.

The boy ... is simply amazing, simply one with his kite  - And you can see influenbces of the old-school Robertshaw in his flying.

Translation courtesy of Google and guesswork. Wink

Once you get to about 3:20 but skipping ahead through this video is borderline criminal activity. Watch it all and let it come to you.

Don't worry Mike, I had already seen it all but I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed this detail... which I had...  Embarrassed
I found it incredibly educational as to how my arm and body gesture attitude should be.
So I'm afraid I'll have to change my flying style 180 !!!   Shocked   Huh   Cry   Cheesy

BTW... WAKE UP!  Wink

Yeah, wow, that's some flying ! I saw both Backspins & Barrel-rolls in that video. A good share of real Backspins, though. The camera angles bug me out. I never really see a stunt kite from any other perspective than first person pilot view. I can't tell what's going on when the camera's at a strange angle, I almost felt like I was watching that RC helicopter video at one point !  Cheesy

But the tricks I did recognize were done masterfully. I'll be watching this one a few times to absorb some good hints & tricks.

I am not sure what he can do with 35m and a bigger wing...and I am not sure I care.

Chris has established himself as the youngest tenured professor of kite flying in history IMHO.
