One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

It's coming... perhaps my most complete kite build documentation ever.  Project in the works.

Plans are not public as of now.  Christian sent them to me.  I'm hesitant to post his email address... It was provided to me by a member of FA, but not publicly.  If you know his email, my guess is Christian would probably be willing to share the plans.

Nice! There are a few monsters around in Belgium. Wouter has an all white one. Didn't try it yet, but since it's a Derefat design it must be pretty sweet.

Looking forward to your build!

Fiddling with graphics for a color template... more fun with time lapse.

The Monster is a 2.4m freestyle kite.  Very similar to l'quartz by the same designer, but with some differences in sail shape.

I hope it flies better than the Le Quartz.
I'm not at all happy about the one I built.
I can defend myself flying my Soul and my Talon UL, but every time I take out the Le Quartz it is a constant battle and I end up getting upset and putting it away.
And I'm so disappointed since I really like the design and the color pattern I chose, so it is really frustrating.

I really hope the Monster is a nicer flyer because I like its design and probably will build one some day...

OT:
Hi Ara, perhaps start a new topic about Le Quartz. I for one am really curious what you dislike about it and maybe we can find out if anything is off? I really like mine.

This should be good, looking forward to your build. All the Derafat kites I have built are great flyers. Love the Organic! Monster does look a big brute so the name is apt.

Lou,
I will confess now, that due to the detail I plan to document, I would not wait with much anticipation for my tutorial.  My plan is to document most of it in one medium and present it all at once to the forum.  It may be a few months before I'm ready to share the results.  I am luck to already have the supply on hand, so I don't have a good suggestion of a place to get the Mylar you are seeking.

Part of the thing I love about kite making is testing new methods and finding what works for me.  I'm flattered that you are interested in seeing my techniques, but I also encourage you to try out some different styles on your own.  Maybe while you're waiting for my tutorial you would enjoy building another kite... A vortex, p2, organic, b'zar 2010 (or 2011, but it is harder) or sixth sense would all be great.

Anyway, keep your eyes posted for updates and teasers of what is to come!
