One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I was wondering where I could locate the fiberglass wrapped rods to make rollbars for my prototyping/test Quartz.  I am not sure what size either.  Looks to be a possible 3mm diameter but not sure.  Haven't seem to find any sites that sell the rods or have much info.  If anyone can help with specifications, parts list or vendors that would help greatly.  I will continue searching.

I was bored today and was actually tired of snags from yoyo based tricks and decided to mod/practice on the Quartz again before applying to actual builds and did a snagless setup on it today.  I saw this on a Benson DS/Gemini.  It was a crude/fast install but worked well enough today.  Please excuse the Mylar alternative Dacron reinforcement that was sewn on the front of the kite rather than the rear.  Figured if the black was going to bleed through the sail might as well just place it up front.

Look at how the guys from Flying Wings have gone about this on the Soul:

Very neat.  Smiley
Except for the tipe of fittings which are awful and must be changed to either jakos or those with the little screws (which are the ones I got).

In my bag...
Duals: NoName (NoBrand), Nexus (Prism), Soul (Flying Wings), Talon UL (JoE), LeQuartz (own build), Illusion Classic (Prism), Aura SUL custom (Skyburner), Sixth Sense STD (Krijn)
Singles: Conyne STD (my design)

It appears to be pitched at 45 degrees.  If that is correct I deliberate on its purpose.  Although I do like how they rolled the material a couple times for thickness and added strength.  On my next proper build I will add that feature.  Thanks Ara!
