Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hi,

I was looking at the Mama74 video study on 2PLanding.
It seemed to me that the inputs were very similar to those of a half axel but going down instead of sideways.

So I tried it this afternoon with my TalonUL and darn! It sort of worked!!!!  Shocked
I sort of got it three or four times. Although VERY ugly and not really landing on the tips but rather more on the back of the kite.
But I could clearly see the movement.

So I just wanted to confirm with you guys whether I'm on the right track or whether it was sheer luck.
Cheers.

OK Wayne, but do you give a thumbs up for my understanding of the 2p-landing being equivalent to a half axel pointing down?

You sir have found the secret of the aggressive 2 pt.   Just pretend you are doing a horizontal pass to half axel, but end a foot or 2 above the ground and it will nicely plant.  It's so satisfying when you nail it perfectly.

Hmmm... yes, I have sort of discovered it   Wink
But I have also discovered the unsatisfying feeling of when you do it too late...   Roll Eyes

As boomertype says "Pelouse piquer du nez"... if there is any "pelouse" at all...

Keep it up, Ara.

I learned my 2pt landing on the Talon UL. Get the timing right and you'll plant those 2pt nicely.  Wink
