One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

What's the strangest thing you have hung under your kite?

Mine was on a beach in Ventura California one summer some years ago, at the time I had a large delta that could lift 30 or so pounds in a good breeze. The mid day off shore was blowing a good 20mph and I had a heavy line out some 400ft, feeling rather bored with just hanging in the wind with a steady breeze, I looked around for some object to get airborne. It was a choice between a park bench and a county garbage can.... ( you know..the good ol armer plated indestructible type)... and feeling like I should "express" just the attitude I had that day.... so the can  got elevated.

It was a bit humorous to read the text "please don't litter"  from 70ft up, swinging gently in the wind... Wink even more funny was the confused look on the park ranger's face as he walked by.

Well, we put a bunch of things on the line, one windy day.  Included was a kite buggy.

At another event we bridled, and flew, a tent which someone slept in the night before.  Pretty fun.

Ron was tethered to my tent at the last Kite Party.

Does that count?
