Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

You should probably read this KB Forum thread
or at least Steve F's first post.

Perhaps now people will realize... and be able to admit, that most supplies KB sold can be had for _far_ less (in some cases 1/4 the price).

Was this necessary? Well now that he's chosen to stop selling altogether, we have one less place to buy from. I missed the comments made on his forum. Do I have you to thank?

When you are selling items like binding for over $50 and anyone can buy it retail for $12 would you say you are doing anyone a favor? Selling seconds as first and then flat out telling people you don't sell seconds as first? Not shipping items for months on end with no notification at all? I understand running a business is difficult and that you are going to make mistakes but this is bigger then that.

Sorry... it's just a fact. I'm not trying to bad mouth anyone.

We could write about Lam's $600 kites if you'd rather.  Huh

The kite is free.
The eyes are $300 each.

So where do we get everything that kb had in one place?

What is everything? You may need to go to two places now but is that such an issue? I know a lot of people that ordered from KB that still shipped elsewhere as well.

That would entail that I have something against Steve, I stood something to gain or was not telling the truth. None of those are true. If the facts are not favorable, I can't help that. I did not bring up the topic, someone else did. What I say no longer affects Steve.

For dual line supplies I think Goodwinds has a very good seclection. Of course, Kent with Wind of Change as well as The Kite Shoppe also have good supplies.

kitesandfunthings has good prices on blemished rods.

There are also sources for things like kite binding (for $12/roll (retail), not $55). For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the company I order from right now.

There are a _lot_ of people on the KB forums that order their supplies from other locations and had issues with ordering from KB... you just did not dare mention it on the forum.

Emmakites is not too bad (limited weight). $6/yard. PC40 for $10/yard.

They have nylon labled as 1.5 ounce/yard but its lighter then that... probably around .75.

Good prices in things such as binding:

http://www.hitexcorp.com/

Usually have a $100 minimum but will probably waive this for 1st time orders.
