Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

The photo inventory is also good as proof for insurance, just in case.

Yes, I checked. Kite are covered while many collections, specifically named, are not.
I have a rider that specifically covers the kite collection in our insurance.....and the kayaks too...

If Noob defines ARA, then, you sir, are the epitomy of a Lightweight as far as a collection goes.   Roll Eyes Grin Grin

You don't have a kite problem until you buy a trailer, just to haul around your collection in.
Every series collector needs a Radian also, and a Trick Tail, and a MEFM, and at least Rev.

chilese,

I like your picture inventory idea.  Way too many stunt kites stored in my work shop.  I started a spreadsheet for the single line kites, but got overwhelmed with the stunt kites.  This is going to be my summer project.

A few years back i tried to take pictures of all of my kites....and i missed a bunch..... https://picasaweb.google.com/110977665158917743177/TheCollection started in 2007...I have added a few more pictures since then....

but i am attempting it again while getting a picture of each kite flying...see how it all goes.......

Way back in college i took a Computer Application in Business course which turned into a basic Word/Excel/PowerPoint/FrontPage class (hey it was 1997) and i did a spreadsheet of my kite inventory at the time....worked out for grades in the class.....had all sorts of info in there i.e. where purchased, how much it retailed for, what i paid, and of course what my mum thought i paid.....it was a humorous spreadsheet at the end....

Collection Conundrum?
Every time your flying this kite you ask. What about that one?
Ooh,i feel the need for speed!
Ah...winds changed time for the standard, which one?
And so on.
Or worse still! Missing Kites, sold kites, rare spare parts!
And the list goes on and on,51 Microns? now what?
The kite cup will never overflow or is it best being half empty or half full?
Oh my,I think i will order that GEMINI UL for when the winds just right, one day....... Tongue

.....And the list goes on and on,51 Microns?......
The REAL question is:
Do you count them as individual kites or as one stack?

I liquidated a collection that covered 20 years....over 300 kites and then there was a lot of laundry, banners and such.....including Peter Lynn Maxis....and i even sold the trailer it came in....resold value at 50k$
but i know that is not a huge amount of kites.....(my collection is somewhere around 200 covering Single line, dual line and multi lines)
